he California Coastal Horse Rescue held its annual Octoberfest and Harvest of Hope Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 13. The organization, which aims to rescue abandoned, abused, neglected and slaughter-bound horses, welcomed Ventura County residents and businesses to its Ojai ranch for an afternoon of food, live music and, of course, time with CCHR’s four-footed residents. A beer and wine garden and SoCal Comfort Food Truck were available for guests’ refreshment, while games, crafts and a bounce house kept youngsters busy. In the words of CCHR President Adri Howe, it was “a unique opportunity for CCHR to celebrate the bounty of hope that our friends, donors, and volunteers provide to the horses we rescue and help to heal.”
